One last suggestion – come ready to share  your memories and connections to this loved community.  Bring pictures and mementos and see who you run into this year!

NOTE: If you are researching this area for genealogy or other projects please submit your questions about the area for publication in the Ward Reunion Book – many who do not attend the reunion purchase these books and any one of them may have the answer you’re seeking!

I wish I had known about this web site a few years back.

My dad died last June 2008 and he was born and raised in the Cedar Grove and Ward area and new many people from that area. He was 92 when he died.

His name was Calvin Wesley Martin, b July 1916, Cedar Grove and died, 10 June 2008, Charleston, Kanawha Co., WV.

He was the s/o Andrew Lewis Martin and Lydia Jane Adkins.

Lydia Jane Adkins re-married Holly Ernest Snow when Andrew died about Feb 1918. They also lived in the same area. Lydia Jane was buried in the Mt. Lewis aka Mammoth cemetery along with her first husband, Andrew Lewis Martin.

Her mother, Nancy Adeline Smith Adkins was also buried in the same cemtery.

Lydia Jane Adkins Martin Snow had a sister, Anna Laura Adkins who md John Preston Hudnall they also lived in the same area. both of them died and are buried in the Ward Cemetery.

If anyone know of my relatives I would love to correspond with them

I have worked on my family genealogy for a good 27 years and have lots of people in my files from that area who are related and not related.
